Auction Prep is Underway, Let's Rise Together!
We hope you have marked your calendars for Saturday, March 3 for our Auction, a fun social event and also our primary fundraiser for financial aid. We have already received lots of volunteer support in soliciting and donating items, designing class items, and more.
We are seeking additional volunteers who are able to help with preparations! It is a great opportunity to meet and get to know parents from other classes as well as our broader community. Opportunities are available February 26 through March 5. There are plenty of options during school hours as well as set up and cleanup slots on Friday after school and Saturday and Monday morning.
Tickets Coming Soon!
Keep an eye out in your email inbox next week for the auction invitation! You will be able to buy auction admission and raffle tickets, contribute to financial aid, and purchase your child's special class project creation.
There will be hundreds of item descriptions to peruse when we share the catalog during the week before the Auction. Between now and then, Constant Comment will highlight an item we think many of you will love!
Every year the From Our Faculty and Staff section of the catalog (items numbered in the 200s) includes returning favorites and new additions that spotlight the creativity and can-do spirit of the people who work at Burgundy! Here are just a few of the ones you’ll find this year:
- Drama teacher Roberta Masters-Cullen will join a student (1st-5th grade) at a local children’s theatre matinee performance or a BOB performance.
- Art teacher Mary Iannone will offer an afterschool bead-making session for up to four students (2nd grade and up).
- Members of the Maintenance team will offer a student (4th grade and up) a morning behind-the-scenes look at what it takes to keep Burgundy humming.
Auction items can still be submitted! For inclusion in the catalog, we need the description by Monday, February 12. The item or certificate can come later. Donated items will still be accepted after Monday, but will be published in the catalog addendum available at the Auction on March 3.
