Applying to Burgundy
The admissions process begins the fall prior to the year a student enrolls.
The first step is to contact the Admissions Office to request an application packet and to attend an Open House. An application packet can be requested by calling the admissions office at 703.329.6968 or by sending an email to . For Open House dates and tour information, click here.
Applications for each school year are accepted between September and February 1 of the previous year. Supporting materials, including teacher recommendations, school transcripts, and test scores must be submitted no later than February 15. Forms for supporting materials are mailed to parents after their application is received or can be printed from the corresponding sections below. Applications submitted after February 1 will be considered after April 1 for grades with spaces still available. Parent Visit
Parents should call the Admissions Office at 703.329.6968 to schedule a campus tour. The Admissions Office will contact you to schedule a student visit in January and February once an application has been submitted.

Admissions Testing
Testing is required for all applicants. Students applying for Junior Kindergarten and Kindergarten must complete and submit WPPSI-III (Wechsler Preschool and Primary Scale of Intelligence-Third Edition) scores. Applicants for Grades 1 through 8 are required to take and submit WISC-IV (Wechsler Intelligence Scale for Children, Fourth Edition) scores. Parents should contact an independent licensed psychologist to schedule testing. Burgundy will send a list of local testers once your application has been received. At your request, testers will forward your child’s results to the admissions office. Results are due by February 15th.

Teacher Recommendation(s)
A teacher recommendation is required for every applicant. Recommendation forms should be given to your child’s teacher(s) to complete and send directly to the school. Applicants for Junior Kindergarten through Grade 5 are required to submit a minimum of one recommendation form from a current teacher. Applicants for Grades 6 through 8 must submit a Math and an English recommendation from their current teacher. The recommendation forms will be sent along with other materials once an application is submitted, or they can be downloaded and printed from the links below. Please call the Admissions Office for further instruction if your child has not attended a school prior to applying to Burgundy.
School Transcripts
Transcripts are required for applicants applying for Grades 2 through 8. Please sign and submit the form below to your child’s school so records can be forwarded to the Admissions Office.

Admissions Policies
Admissions policies have been developed in accordance with the school's mission and a desire for a diverse community of learners. The Admissions Committee, including the Director of Admissions, faculty, and administrators, is charged with evaluating each piece of an applicant’s file to determine each applicant’s fit within the school. Decisions are sent to families in early March.
