Choosing Burgundy

Welcome to Burgundy Farm Country Day School, where learning comes alive!

The Burgundy community is united by its commitment to help each student realize his or her full potential as a student and as a person. Burgundy invites parents to partner with faculty and staff dedicated to instilling in children a passion for learning, a strong sense of self, and care for the world around them.

Our innovative academic program engages children in an integrated curriculum that prepares graduates for success at a wide range of area high schools and in life. Burgundy’s 500-acre West Virginia campus and 25-acre Alexandria campus provide unique labs for learning where students can explore the outdoors and experience nature. Theme-based units and project-oriented class work on campus combine with field trips utilizing the vast resources of the Washington D.C. metropolitan area to provide students with in-depth examinations of subject matter that cultivate critical thinking.

Our developmental, individual approach to teaching inspires children’s natural curiosity and creativity, while our community invites parents, friends, and extended family to share in the exciting discoveries their student will make at Burgundy. Burgundy offers not only an exceptional education, but also additional activities and support that provide convenience for parents and promote family involvement and life-long learning. Becoming a part of the Burgundy community means choosing to participate in your child’s education and investing in his or her future as a compassionate, confident scholar and person.

Please take the opportunity to read what our Head of School, Parents, Alumni, Students and Faculty have to say about their Burgundy experience. We look forward to meeting your child and family and hope you will plan to visit our exceptional campus soon.
